Welcome to The Compassion Café

Next Meet-up: Wednesday 5th March 2025, 5.30–7pm, with Guest Speaker

Every three months, StriveTogether meet at the wonderful Bitsy’s Emporium of Awesome for our “Compassion Café”. These relaxed and friendly meet-ups are an opportunity to bring together like-minded individuals to discuss mental fitness, share practical ideas and experiences, build community, and raise awareness about the small changes we can all make to lead happier, healthier, and more compassionate lives – all while enjoying the Bitsy’s delicious bakes, beverages, and super friendly service!

In order to make these events as accessible as possible, they are completely free to attend. There is no obligation to buy anything from the café or to contribute to StriveTogether, but if you would like to, we’d of course be extremely grateful. More on that later though!

For now, let’s answer a few common questions…

Bitsy’s Emporium of Awesome is the perfect venue for our “Compassion Café”. In addition to serving delicious food and drinks, Lauren, Strive Mentor and Ambassador, is also one of Bitsy’s super friendly baristas and has kindly agreed to extend the café’s usual opening hours for our events.

We aim to start at 5.30pm, but feel free to arrive a little earlier. At around 5.45pm, there will be a few words from Strive and a special guest speaker. After that, we’ll open up the floor to conversation and see where it leads. We aim to finish around 7.30pm, but the event is informal, so please feel free to join or leave whenever you like.

Throughout the evening, there will be opportunities to contribute to StriveTogether, but attending and enjoying the community is the main focus. We want to connect, share ideas, and learn from each other in a supportive environment.

If you have any accessibility questions, please email us here, or give us a call at 0116 340 0630.

Mental fitness is just as crucial as physical fitness for our overall well-being. While physical exercise keeps our bodies strong, mental fitness empowers us to build resilience, maintain emotional balance, and enhance cognitive abilities. It’s about training the mind and body to face life’s challenges with strength, clarity, and hope. Like physical fitness, it takes work and practice, and having the right information and support is essential.

Mental fitness isn’t just about overcoming temporary challenges; it’s about developing a proactive mindset for continuous growth and well-being.

Founded by the inspiring Linda Neville, Strive offers a practical, proactive, and evidence-based approach to building mental fitness. Through our online resources, mentorship, webinars, workshops, community, and events, we provide tools that help our members make positive, lasting changes in all areas of their lives.

Members join us through workplace wellbeing programmes or as individuals. Either way, our resources help to build resilience, manage and reduce stress, and promote a healthy mindset, empowering members to thrive in both personal and professional settings.

"We believe that, no matter our circumstances, there is always something we can do to improve our mental fitness, helping us lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives."

What is StriveTogether?

StriveTogether is our corporate social responsibility (CSR) project, created to raise awareness and funds to make Strive’s resources available to as many people as possible. We aim to provide Strive memberships to individuals who would benefit from them but cannot access them through their workplace or afford them independently.

In 2025, our Strive Ambassadors have pledged to raise £6,000, enough to fund over 10 six-month memberships. While there is no obligation to support our project, any contributions will help us achieve this goal and make a real difference.

Who are StriveTogether ambassadors?

Strive is supported by a wonderful group of ambassadors who share a passion for helping others make positive changes. Driven by compassion and the belief that with a little support, everyone can benefit from positive change, our ambassadors raise awareness and contribute however they can to our growing community.

If you’d like to learn more about our ambassadors, you can find out more here or join us at the next event.
